This morning Richard and I met at our usual time to go for a run through a storybook. I love running in fog. It makes everything look surreal!! We ran 6!! Yay, I actually ran what I set out to run!! My foot is a bit sore today. I have been off of Relafen for about 2 weeks, but I think I might want to go back on it for a couple of days until the pain goes away. I finished the 6 in 1:05:23. Not bad considering I walked a mile of it!! I know I can do better. Hopefully I can run in the morning tomorrow and beat that time. I would love to push my base mileage to 6 miles. I know I can I just have to rest and fuel appropriately. I have been eating better, just not great.
Kevin is home sick today and I am trying to keep my distance, but he wants me to stay home with him. No offense guys, but man you are all sooooo needy when you are sick. Oh well, time to make some Chicken Noodle Soup!!

Burr it's cold outside!!

Good morning fellow bloggers. I am taking a lesson in humility this morning. I am "playing" secretary today for my small company. Since we are so small, only 5 of us, when someone wants to take the day off the others fill in as much as possible. Now I have "played" secretary before, but it was not this busy. I have a list about a mile long of things to get done. I am thinking to myself, it was not this busy last time what's the deal?? I am becoming more appreciative of what the regular person does. I am used to a lifestyle of coming and going freely, answering my cell phone, hanging out with my dog at home, training a few clients here and there, running the occasional test, working out, and oh yeah never, never having to sit at a desk. This will be torture!! With some help of the internet world, some CD's, and a good book (if I get to slow down and read it) I should be able to make until 5pm. Yikes, it is only 9:30, that is so far away.
I did not run this morning. I called Richard last night and told him I would be insane to go run with the winds gusting around 25 miles and hour and the temp dipping down near 20 degrees. I don't mind the cold, it is the wind that is killing me this week. I am afraid it will stick around until Spring. I will wish then that we had some wind to keep it from feeling so hot. Oh well, the grass is always greener on the other side right? My friend B told me this morning that it sounded like I was not used to running so many days in a row and that is why I am tired. I know she is right but my gut reaction is "whatever, that isn't true". Thanks, B for the reality check!! See I am getting humbled all over the place today! Hahaha!! I am really tired though. I feel as though I could sleep for days and days!! I should really consider slowing down a bit!! I must get back to playing secretary!!

Choose your day!!

This morning I have chosen to have a great day!! So far it has not been that great, but I am choosing to make it great!! I did not feel like running this morning. I got up and drove to our meeting place anyway. I pressed on for about 2 miles then quit. My body said no. I ignored it and tried to go on, it said NO again!! I finished out the 5 miles walking. I think I finished in something like 1 hour and 4 minutes. I am tired. My left foot is really sore today, and my hips are wound so tight it is hard to move, but I could complain for days! I figure I ran hard for 2 days in a row, so I can go easy today!! No big deal. I know tomorrow will be better!! So far I have made 13 of my 30 mile goal this week! I am on my way...uh sort of. Heehee!! I encourage y'all to grab onto every moment and make your move toward a great day!!! I will!!

What a great run!!

Richard and I met this morning for a short run. We talked about 3 or 4, ended up 3. We chatted and ran along in the heavy wind again. This time though it was not as hard to breathe. I wonder why that is?? The wind was the same as it was yesterday, yet today it was a bit easier to breathe. Oh well, nonetheless it was a totally awesome run!! We finished in 27:27!!! I think that might be a PR!! Wooohooo!!! I should look back on things, but no I am pretty sure it is!!! I am way fired up!!! Tomorrow morning I was going to lead Bootcamp but we have decided to not meet so I think I will give 7 miles a try in the morning!! I also think I have broken through my funk!! Yay!!! Anyway, I might try the Spring Fever ride in Sulphur springs. I can't decide 44 or 69 miles?? I found out the cycling:running mileage conversion in 3:1. So do I feel like pushing through about 15 miles or 23? The scenary should be pretty by then. Hum, who knows what I will do. I probably should do the 69 miles, if I am looking for a marathon replacement!! I will have think on this one!!

Yes, I am still alive

This morning we all met to run at least 5 miles maybe 6. Once we got started we quickly realized that the gail force head wind was going to be a tough battle to fight. Susan decided to turn around early. I figured since I got my lazy butt out of bed and drove 20 minutes to run, well I was going to run. Richard and I made it to the 5 mile turn around and I gave up. I went out to run 6 and turned to run 5. Oh well. I ran further than usual (I did not quit until mile 4). I only walked about a quarter mile and then took off from there. By then I was totally whipped. I haven't finished a run like that in a long time. I felt like I had a total body high intensity workout. My legs, abs, core, and upper body was sort of quivery. Weird. I was, uh am, exhausted. I finished in 53:23. Not bad for a gail force wind!!!! Richard, I hear did 7!! Wow!! Great job! You rock!! I intend on getting a bit further on Friday, or maybe tomorrow morning. Not sure yet!! We will see how tired I am and if there is a strong head wind!!

I can't believe it has been a couple of weeks!!

I can't believe it has been so long since I blogged. Same ol' excuse, I have been busy!!
I started my week of this morning with my regular Monday lifting session, only surprise, surprise my dear friend Richard worked out with me!! It was nice to have some company. I plan to run this afternoon or evening (not sure which). My goal 4-5 miles. I want to run 30 miles this week!! I will get it done. I think if I have something to focus on, my funk will go away!! I will put my efforts back into my running!! It is my 2nd love (aside from my loving husband of course!!).
